This bill would create a special commission of 3 individuals with expertise in affordable housing financing and development created to conduct a performance review of Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency's last 5 fiscal years to assess the agency's performance in the areas of affordable and low income housing in gateway cities. One member shall be appointed by the Governor, 1 member shall be appointed by the senate president and 1 member shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives. The goal of the commission would make recommendations as to how the agency can generate more affordable and low income housing in gateway cities.
