Public Meeting Notice Fifth meeting of the PFAS Interagency Task Force to discuss "Action taken at the federal level and in other states to address PFAS contamination

The PFAS Interagency Task Force will hold its fifth meeting to review and investigate water and ground contamination of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances across the commonwealth on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021. The purpose of this hearing is to understand federal and other states' efforts to address PFAS contamination through legislation, regulation, and research in order to inform Task Force recommendations for Massachusetts.

We will hear from the following testifiers: Congresswoman Lori Trahan, Representative from the Massachusetts 3rd Congressional District and original cosponsor of the PFAS Action Act; Dr. Patrick Breysee, Director of the CDC's National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR); Kristen Hildreth, NCSL Legislative Director & Shelly Oren, NCSL Research Analyst; and Catherine Beahm, NHDES Administrator with a special focus on PFAS air deposition modeling, stack testing, and control equipment.
