Event Description

Eighth meeting of the 21st Century Agriculture Commission, focusing on Farm Energy. The hearing will cover the opportunities and challenges for using and citing renewable energy on farms. Testimony will be provided from Massachusetts stakeholders, as well as experts in other states.

The 21st Century Agriculture Commission will host its eighth hearing on April 30, 2024, to review sustainable energy practices needed to meet the evolving demands of the 21st Century. Invited speakers will testify on programs that range from investing in solar to the use of bio-char pyrolysis, as well as to the needed balance between energy production and food production and farmland preservation. Testimony will be provided by Massachusetts energy experts and experts from outside the Commonwealth.

The hearing will feature testimony from the following invited speakers:
