THE COMMISSION WANTS TO LEARN FROM YOU!

This is an open public hearing and the Commission encourages experts, community and coalition leaders, prevention specialists, and concerned citizens or groups to testify. Testimony can focus on any part of its charge and on the following overarching questions:

· What's working in behavioral health promotion and upstream prevention?

· How can we fund what's working?

· What can we achieve if we fund what works?

WHAT IS THE PROMOTE PREVENT COMMISSION?

The Promote Prevent Commission is tasked with investigating evidence-based practices, programs, legislation, and systems to prevent behavioral health disorders and promote behavioral health across the Commonwealth. The Commission is a multidisciplinary group of leaders across key fields, including behavioral health, prevention, public health, addiction, mental health, public safety, health policy, epidemiology, and environmental health. The Commission is chaired by State Representative Jim Cantwell and State Senator Jen Flanagan. For more information, you can visit promoteprevent.com.

The Commission is legally charged with focusing on prevention, promotion, and early intervention services for all types of behavioral health issues, including addiction, mental illness, and violence. The Commission is not charged with focusing on treatment and recovery systems.

SUBMITTING TESTIMONY:

· Public testimony will be limited to 3 minutes with additional time for Q&A

· Testifiers are encouraged to submit longer written testimony in person or to testimony@promoteprevent.com

· Testifiers can also sign up ahead of time by emailing testimony@promoteprevent.com or on the list outside the hearing room
