Event Description

Senator Marc R. Pacheco (D-Taunton) and State Representative Antonio F. D. Cabral (D-New Bedford), co-chairmen of the Portuguese American Legislative Caucus, have announced the 38^th Annual Heritage Day of Portugal will be celebrated virtually on Tuesday, June 21^st at 11:00AM.

The event, typically celebrated in-person at the State House in the House Chamber, will once again shift to a virtual event highlighting the accomplishments of Portuguese Americans in our community. Enjoy the music and the conversation from home.

The Portuguese American Legislative Caucus (PALC) is a bicameral, bipartisan group of legislators who work to develop strong ties between Massachusetts and the larger Portuguese-speaking world. PALC advocates for language-support programming and opportunities for Portuguese-speakers in the Commonwealth. The caucus currently has 14 members who can trace their backgrounds to mainland Portugal, the Azores, Madeira, Cabo Verde, and Brazil. The Heritage Day of Portugal celebration is the premier event coordinated by the caucus.
