Shawn Dooley was sworn in to the Massachusetts Legislature by Governor Deval Patrick on January 29, 2014 after winning the Special Election on January 7th. Shawn represents the 9th Norfolk District which contains the towns of Medfield, Millis, Norfolk, Plainville, Walpole, and Wrentham.
Shawn serves as a full time legislator and as an on- call firefighter/EMT for the Town of Plainville. He has also served on the Norfolk Fire Department.
He is married to Attorney CiCi Van Tine and has four children. Caroline (19) who will be attending the United States Naval Academy beginning on June 30th, Emma (11), Jack (10), and Will (8) who are all avid hockey players.
In his swearing in speech Mr. Dooley quoted from President Kennedy’s “City Upon a Hill” speech and called upon his fellow legislators to put People Before Politics. In his closing he stated that, “Our Commonwealth should not only serve as a Beacon of Hope, but as the very definition of Liberty. Let us embrace our destiny and prove to the nation what greatness can be accomplished when we stand united.”
