Joint Statement on the Shield Act
July 31, 2025(BOSTON—7/31/2025) Today, Senator Cindy F. Friedman, Chair of the Senate Committee on Steering and Policy, and Representative Michael S. Day, House Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary, issued the following statement after reaching an agreement on final language for S.2543/H.4294, An Act strengthening health care protections in the Commonwealth.
“As the House and Senate leads for the Shield Act, we are pleased to announce that we have resolved the very minor differences between the chambers and reached consensus on final language for this legislation. It is critical in this time that we stand up for the patients and providers of legally-protected health care in the Commonwealth. Our intent is that the House and Senate will vote to send this bill to the Governor’s desk later today.”
