Joint Statement on Support for Fiscally-Strained Hospitals and Community Health Centers
September 15, 2025(BOSTON—9/15/2025) Today, Senator Michael J. Rodrigues, Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, and Aaron Michlewitz, Chair of the House Committee on Ways and Means, issued the following statement regarding a partial supplemental budget bill to be reported out of the House Ways and Means Committee.
"We are pleased to announce that House and Senate leaders have reached an agreement on a funding plan that will direct $234 million to hospitals and community health centers throughout the state as they confront rising health care costs in the face of persistent economic headwinds and an unfriendly federal government.
"This agreement further deepens our commitment to support our most vulnerable populations by bolstering our fiscally strained hospitals and community health centers, which are firmly embedded in the fabric of our Commonwealth. This is a vital step toward ultimately preserving access to life-saving care at a time when providers are struggling to deliver safe, timely, and high-quality services.
"We are eager to act on this funding plan in the coming days and swiftly send it to the Governor for her signature."
