Requiring Upfront Disclosure of Ingredients
Prints Ingredients on Boxes and Websites. Stipulates that a plain and conspicuous list of all ingredients be printed on the label for packages or boxes of menstrual products manufactured for sale or distribution in Massachusetts. Requires that manufacturers also post the list on their website. The ingredients must be listed in order of predominance.
Calls for Updates When Ingredients Change. Gives manufacturers up to 18 months to update the package labels when ingredients change, and up to two months to update their websites.
Holds Manufacturers Accountable. Holds manufacturers to the new requirement with a fine of up to $1,000 per violation.
