The 191st General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN ROAD IN THE TOWN OF CHARLTON AS TROOPER THOMAS L. CLARDY WAY

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain road in the town of Charlton, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The unnamed service road located between Sturbridge road and the eastbound lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike at the state police barracks in the town of Charlton shall be designated and known as Trooper Thomas L. Clardy way in memory of Trooper Thomas L. Clardy, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a Massachusetts state trooper who was killed in the line of duty on March 16, 2016. The division of highways in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
