Massachusetts is in the midst of dueling housing shortage and environmental crises. This bill aims to address these concurrent realities by creating a special legislative commission to investigate the issuance of permits and approvals for housing projects under section 21 of chapter 40B. The commission would examine impacts on the environment and abutting properties to ensure issuance of permits and approvals do not hurt the Commonwealth’s climate goals.
