Dextromethorphan (DXM), a common over-the-counter cough suppressant, poses great risk to minors due to its addictive and sometimes deadly nature. This bill would prohibit DXM from being sold to or purchased by any person under the age of 18. Those who violate the prohibition under the bill will be subject to civil penalties.
