Bill Information

Presenter:
Rebecca L. Rausch
This bill would reduce single-use plastics in the Commonwealth, key to achieving our climate action goals of reducing greenhouse gases and waste. Specific provisions include a uniform statewide plastic bag ban, disposable food service ware limits, a prohibition on intentional balloon releases, limits on the sales of smaller single-use plastic water bottles, a permanent statewide bulk plastic recycling program, and the creation of an Environmental Protection Trust Fund, designed to support environmental justice populations and small business transitions to environmentally friendly products.
