AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1999 TO PROVIDE FOR SUPPLEMENTING CERTAIN EXISTING APPROPRIATIONS AND FOR CERTAIN OTHER ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. To provide for certain unanticipated obligations of the commonwealth and to meet certain requirements of law, the sums set forth in section 2A are hereby appropriated from the general fund unless specifically designated otherwise, for the several purposes and subject to the conditions specified therein and subject to the provisions of law regulating the disbursement of public funds for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999.

For the costs of computer equipment, cabling and software necessary to
correct the date-handling logic problems, so-called, for the supreme
judicial court in order to sustain uninterrupted operations through
calendar year 2000 and beyond; provided, that said court shall report to
the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than
January 15, 1999 on the amounts projected to be expended for each
such purpose and the extent to which the sum appropriated
herein is sufficient to correct such problems; and provided further, that
no funds shall be expended from this item for the purposes of the AA
subsidiary, so-called
