AN ACT ESTABLISHING A BARRIER BEACH PROTECTION STABILIZATION FUND IN THE TOWN OF DENNIS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 53 of chapter 44 of the General Laws or any other general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, there shall be in the town of Dennis a special fund to be known as the Barrier Beach Protection Stabilization Fund. There shall be deposited into the fund, without further appropriation, monies in the amount of 20 per cent of the fees collected by the town of Dennis from the sale of off road vehicle permits. The fund shall be used exclusively for barrier beach protection, including law enforcement and restoration.

SECTION 2. The Barrier Beach Protection Stabilization Fund shall be maintained by the town treasurer as a separate account, subject to applicable provisions of chapter 44 of the General Laws and any interest accrued shall be credited to and become part of the fund.
