Rep. Josh S. Cutler is a Duxbury resident and South Shore native who represents the Sixth Plymouth District, comprised of the towns of Pembroke, Hanson and precincts 2-6 of Duxbury. He is serving in his third term.
Rep. Cutler graduated from Skidmore College with a B.A. in political science and put himself through law school at night at Suffolk University Law School. He recently completed his Master's Degree in Public Policy and Environmental Policy from UMass-Dartmouth.
Prior to being elected to the legislature, Josh served as a newspaper editor and publisher for his third-generation family business. Prior to that he worked as an account executive for a high-tech public relations firm in Boston.
Rep. Cutler served as an elected member of the Duxbury Planning Board from 2009 to 2013, and prior to moving back to Duxbury was a Selectman in the Town of Hull. He is currently a member of the Duxbury Alternative Energy Committee and the Pembroke Chamber of Commerce. An active volunteer, Rep. Cutler serves on the Board of Directors for the Duxbury Free Library, Inc., and the Hanson Kiwanis Foundation.
Rep. Cutler was selected as a Fellow by the Council of State Governments, Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy in 2013 and was elected by his peers as President of the Legislative Class of 2013-14.
In his spare time Rep. Cutler enjoys photography, writing and hiking.
