Kimberly Ferguson was first elected State Representative for the 1st Worcester District in November, 2010. The 1st Worcester District is comprised of Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling Pct 1), and Westminster Pct 2). Kimberly has recently been appointed to the Joint Committee on Education (ranking member), Joint Committee for Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities (ranking member), and Joint Committee on Elder Affairs. She also recently served on the Brain Injury Commission, and currently serves on the Commission on Post Partum Depression and the Families and Children Requiring Assistance Advisory Board. She is an Advisory Board member of the Devereux School and also a State Director for Women in Government. Prior to being elected state representative, Kimberly served on the Wachusett Regional School District Committee for three years and then the Town of Holden Board of Selectmen for eight years.
Kimberly holds a Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education Leadership and Management. Until recently, she had been working as a private practice speech/language pathologist and consultant; she has also been an adjunct faculty member of the Graduate Department at Framingham State College. She and her husband have two sons and reside in Holden. She is an active volunteer in her son’s school and supports several; civic organizations and charities.
