State Senator Susan L. Moran proudly represents the Plymouth & Barnstable District. Her district is made up of Bourne, Falmouth, Kingston, Pembroke, Plymouth, and Sandwich. As of 2023, she will also be representing the Towns of Mashpee and Plympton. 

She is Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Senate Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on Advanced Information Technology, the Internet and Cybersecurity & the Joint Committee on Public Health, and a sitting member of the Joint Committees on Cannabis Policy, Financial Services, Municipalities and Regional Government, Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, and Transportation. 

Senator Moran is currently a Senate appointee on the Early Education and Care Economic Review Commission and participated as a member of the Massachusetts Shellfish Initiative Taskforce. As a member of several legislative caucuses; including the Coastal Caucus, Food Security Caucus, Zero Waste Caucus, Food Security Caucus, a Food System Caucus, Sportsmen Caucus, Manufacturing Caucus, Regional Transit Authority, and Clean Energy Caucus she is actively advocating for these issues to benefit her district and its residents. Senator Moran also serves as a board member of the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators.  

Living and working for decades on the Upper Cape including as a lawyer for small businesses, as owner of a real estate company, and participating in local government, she is intricately experienced in the needs of her district. Before running for office at the state level, Senator Moran served as Chairman of the Falmouth Select Board, President of the Cape & Islands Selectmen and Councilors Association, Falmouth’s delegate and Deputy Speaker to the Barnstable County Assembly, and several other regional and municipal councils including the Cape Economic Development Council, and Cape Cod Coastal Resources Water Collaborative.  

Senator Moran has been a leader in the legislature on pressing issues related to economic development including childcare, transportation, education, the maritime economy, and protecting our environment.
