This bill would require that insurance coverage for all medical care related to pregnancy, including c-section, abortion and abortion-related care, prenatal care, and childbirth and postpartum care, be provided free of any deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays or other cost-sharing. Licensed midwives would be included as providers that can conduct a covered home visit and licensed certified professional midwives would be added to the definition of attending physician. The bill would also ensure that the appropriate oversight agency ensures health plan compliance with these provisions.
