AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE MATURITIES OF CERTAIN BONDS AND NOTES TO BE ISSUED BY THE TOWN OF RUTLAND.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the treasurer and board of selectmen of the town of Rutland may provide that the maturities of the bonds and notes authorized under Article 1 of the warrant for the special town meeting held on March 7, 1996 shall be so arranged that for each issue the amounts payable on the several years for principal and interest combined shall be as nearly equal as practicable in the opinion of said treasurer and said board of selectmen or in the alternative, in accordance with a schedule providing a more rapid amortization of principal.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
