AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN IN THE TOWN OF BOXBOROUGH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the board of selectmen of the town of Boxborough shall consist of five members. Said town shall hold a special election within 90 days of the effective date of this act at which time there shall be two selectmen elected, one for a term to expire at the 1999 annual town election and one for a term to expire at the 2000 annual town election. At each annual town election held thereafter, there shall be one or two selectmen elected for a three year term so as to maintain a five member board. Selectmen in office on the effective date of this act shall serve until the expiration of their terms. +s

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. @s
