AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN LAND BY THE CITY OF HAVERHILL TO THE TOWN OF BOXFORD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. The city of Haverhill may convey to the town of Boxford a certain parcel of city-owned conservation land consisting of approximately 11.4 acres located at 0 Lakeshore road in the town of Boxford. The land is shown on the town of Boxford Assessor’s Map 3, block 1, lot 5.

SECTION 2.
The consideration for the conveyance authorized in section 1 shall be $750,000 based on the full and fair market value of the proposed use of the parcel, determined by 1 or more independent professional appraisals. The town of Boxford shall dedicate the parcel for open space, conservation and passive recreational purposes. The conveyance shall be by deed by the city of Haverhill pursuant to chapter 184 of the General Laws and shall include a conservation restriction to ensure the protection of open space, conservation and passive recreational purposes. This conveyance shall be made in accordance with chapter 30B of the General Laws.

SECTION 3.
If the land conveyed pursuant to this act ceases to be used for the purposes described in section 2, the land shall revert back to the city of Haverhill for conservation purposes.

SECTION 4.
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
