AN ACT ESTABLISHING FRAGILE X AWARENESS DAY.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to establish forthwith Fragile X Awareness Day on July 22, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
Chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 15PPPPP the following section:-
Section 15QQQQQ. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart July 22 as Fragile X Awareness Day, in recognition of the successes achieved in diagnosis and treatment through spreading awareness in the Fragile X community and beyond, and recommending that the day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
