AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN TO DESIGNATE A CHECK-OFF BOX ON ITS TAX BILLS

         Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
         SECTION 1.  The town of Provincetown may, subject to the approval of the commissioner of revenue, designate a place on its municipal tax bills or motor vehicle excise tax bills, or mail with such tax bills a separate form, whereby taxpayers of the town may voluntarily check off, donate or pledge an amount of money which shall increase the amount already due and which shall be paid over to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund for the town, established pursuant to chapter 230 of the acts of 2002 for the support of the town's affordable housing efforts.
         SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
