AN ACT DESIGNATING THE MASSACHUSETTS HOSPITAL SCHOOL AS THE PAPPAS REHABILITATION HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate the Massachusetts hospital school as the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
The Massachusetts hospital school in the town of Canton shall be designated and known as the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children in honor of Arthur M. Pappas, M.D. for his 41 years as chairman and guiding light of the board of trustees of the Massachusetts hospital school, his pioneering work in the field of orthopedics and his lifelong commitment to academics, child advocacy and philanthropy.  The department of capital asset management and maintenance shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.

Approved, April 28, 2016.
