AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF SOUTHBOROUGH TO ENTER INTO A LAND EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH ST. MARK'S SCHOOL OF SOUTHBOROUGH, INC.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding chapters 30B, 40 and 45 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the town of Southborough, acting by and through its board of selectmen, may enter into a land exchange purchase and sale agreement for the purchase of land from St. Mark’s School of Southborough, Inc. located at 36 Cordaville road in the town of Southborough, as shown on assessors map 45 as lot 2, and the sale of 2 parcels of land to St. Mark’s School of Southborough, Inc. located at 19 Main street, as shown on assessors map 54 as lot 26, and on School street, as shown on assessors map 65 as lot 10, in the town of Southborough.

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding chapter 61B of the General Laws, the board of assessors of the town of Southborough, in conjunction with the board of selectmen of the town of Southborough, may negotiate with St. Mark’s School of Southborough, Inc. and abate the amount of rollback taxes that may be due on the parcel of land located at 36 Cordaville road in conjunction with the land exchange purchase and sales agreement authorized in section 1.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
