AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF AUBURN AND A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY IN THE TOWN OF LEICESTER IN MEMORY OF OFFICER RONALD TARENTINO, JR.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain bridge in the town of Auburn and a portion of state highway in the town of Leicester, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

Bridge number A-17-029 located on Swanson road spanning interstate highway Route 290 in the town of Auburn shall be designated and known as the Officer Ronald Tarentino, Jr. Memorial Bridge, in memory of Officer Tarentino’s courageous service and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. 

The portion of state highway Route 9 from the city of Worcester city line to the intersection of Woodland drive in the town of Leicester shall be designated and known as the Officer Ronald Tarentino, Jr. Memorial Highway, in memory of Officer Tarentino’s courageous service and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. 

The division of highways in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designations described in this act in compliance with the standards of the department.
