AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TRUSTEES OF THE BATHING BEACH IN THE TOWN OF HINGHAM TO ENTER INTO A LEASE FOR THE OPERATION OF THE BATHHOUSE FACILITY AND SURROUNDING GROUNDS

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
    SECTION 1.  (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the trustees of the bathing beach in the town of Hingham may enter into a lease for a term not to exceed 30 years with a selected tenant for the operation of a snack stand, restrooms and bathhouse facilities at a newly constructed bathhouse facility and surrounding grounds in order to increase the public enjoyment of the area and adjacent waterfront. 
(b)  The bathhouse facility shall be located in a new building to be constructed by the town of Hingham on the property located on Otis street and further identified on the town of Hingham assessors’ map 50 as lot 51.  The property is held in trust by the trustees of the bathing beach in the town of Hingham under transfer certificate of title number 5167 issued by the Plymouth county district of the land court and pursuant to chapter 75 of the acts of 1934.
    SECTION 2.  The lease authorized in section 1 shall be awarded to a selected tenant pursuant to a request for proposals issued pursuant to section 16 of chapter 30B of the General Laws which is on file with the town of Hingham.
    SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
