AN ACT EXEMPTING NICHOLAS L. MARTONE FROM THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR FIREFIGHTERS IN THE TOWN OF NORTH ANDOVER
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, Nicholas L. Martone of the town of North Andover shall be eligible to have his name certified for original appointment to the position of firefighter in the town of North Andover, notwithstanding having reached the age of 32 before taking the civil service examination in connection with that appointment. Nicholas L. Martone shall be eligible for appointment to the position of firefighter in the town of North Andover if he meets all other requirements for certification and appointment.
(b) The eligibility exemption in subsection (a) shall apply only to certified lists assembled under the examination conducted before the effective date of this act.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
