The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING CERTAIN BRIDGES IN THE CITY KNOWN AS THE TOWN OF BARNSTABLE AS THE FIRST RESPONDERS APPRECIATION OVERPASSES.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith certain bridges in the city known as the town of Barnstable, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

The bridges numbered B-01-011 and B-01-016 on state Route 149, spanning United States Route 6 in the city known as the town of Barnstable shall be designated and known as the First Responders Appreciation Overpasses. The division of highways within the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department, which shall state, in addition to the designation, “The Commonwealth recognizes its first responders and gratefully dedicates these overpasses in their honor as a testament to their public service.”.
