AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BROOKFIELD HOUSING AUTHORITY TO CONVEY A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND AND THE BUILDINGS THEREON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Brookfield housing authority may, subject to the approval of the department of housing and community development, transfer, without monetary consideration, ownership of the land, and the buildings thereon, located in the town of Brookfield that is described in a deed dated October 4, 1982 and recorded in the Worcester district registry of deeds in book 7568, page 309 to the Oxford housing authority. The property shall be owned and operated by the Oxford housing authority to continue to provide housing for families of low-income in accordance with chapter 121B of the General Laws and with the regulations of the department.

SECTION 2. In the operation of the housing authorized to be conveyed to it in section 1, the Oxford housing authority shall provide a preference for admission to housing applicants who are residents of the town of Brookfield.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
