The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN PARK IN THE CITY OF LYNN AS THE FREDERICK DOUGLASS PARK.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain park in the city of Lynn as the Frederick Douglass Park, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The park to be constructed on the parcel of land located at 1 - 19 Exchange street in the city of Lynn pursuant to clauses (d) and (e) of section 2 and section 5 of chapter 38 of the acts of 2003, as amended by chapter 169 of the acts of 2018, shall be designated and known as the Frederick Douglass Park. This designation shall occur after the park has formally opened as a public park of the commonwealth under the care and control of the department of conservation and recreation. Said department shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
