AN ACT REGULATING MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWNS OF RICHMOND AND WEST STOCKBRIDGE ACTING IN RELATION TO INTERMUNICIPAL AGREEMENTS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 268A of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, a municipal employee of the town of Richmond or the town of West Stockbridge shall not be prohibited from receiving or requesting compensation from, or from acting as an agent or attorney for, the town of Richmond or the town of West Stockbridge; provided, however, that the employee is acting within the scope of the employee’s official duties pursuant to an intermunicipal agreement entered into pursuant to section 4A of chapter 40 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
