AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SALEM SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FROM FUNDS SET ASIDE FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 3C of chapter 60 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city of Salem scholarship and education committee may provide educational financial aid to deserving Salem residents from educational funds collected, pursuant to said section 3C of said chapter 60, for the purpose of supplementing educational funding and adult literacy programs.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
