AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN OF THE TOWN OF NORTH ANDOVER TO SELECT BOARD
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The charter of the town of North Andover, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- Select Board.
SECTION 2. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “Selectmen”, the ninth time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- the Select Board.
SECTION 3. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “Selectmen”, the tenth time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Select Board members.
SECTION 4. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “Selectmen”, the eleventh time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- a Select Board member.
SECTION 5. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen’s”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- Select Board’s.
SECTION 6. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “Selectman” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Select Board Member.
SECTION 7. Said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the word “Selectmen”, the forty second time it appears, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Select Board member.
SECTION 8. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
