AN ACT AMENDING THE CHARTER FOR THE TOWN OF CHATHAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1-3 of part I of the charter of the town of Chatham, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 2. Section 1-7 of said part I of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 3. Section 2-4 of part II of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 4. Section 2-6 of said part II of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 5. Section 2-7 of said part II of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 6. Section 3-1 of part III of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 7. Section 3-2 of said part III of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the heading and inserting in place thereof the following heading:- Select Board.
SECTION 8. Section 3-2 of said part III of said charter are hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 9. Section 4-1 of part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 10. Section 4-2 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the heading and inserting in place thereof the following heading:- Relationship of Town Manager and the Select Board.
SECTION 11. Said section 4-2 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 12. Section 4-3 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 13. Section 4-4 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 14. Section 4-5 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 15. Section 4-6 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 16. Section 4-7 of said part IV of said charter are hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 17. Subsection (f) of said section 4-7 of said part IV of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out the words “the selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- the select board.
SECTION 18. Section 4-8 of said part IV of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 19. Section 5-1 of part V of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 20. Section 5-2 of said part V of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 21. Section 5-3 of said part V of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 22. Section 6-1 of part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 23. Section 6-2 of said part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 24. Section 6-3 of said part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 25. Section 6-4 of said part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the heading and inserting in place thereof the following heading:- Select Board Action.
SECTION 26. Said section 6-4 of said part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- select board.
SECTION 27. Section 6-5 of said part VI of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - select board.
SECTION 28. Section 7-2 of part VII of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 29. Section 7-3 of said part VII of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “the selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: - the select board.
SECTION 30. Said section 7-3 of said part VII of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
SECTION 31. Section 8-2 of part VIII of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words: - select board.
SECTION 32. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
