AN ACT EXEMPTING JOANNE RICARDELLI FROM THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR FIREFIGHTERS IN THE TOWN OF WILMINGTON

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law regulating the maximum age of applicants for appointment as firefighter to the contrary, Joanne Ricardelli shall be eligible to have her name certified for original appointment to the position of firefighter in the town of Wilmington, notwithstanding having reached the age of 32 before taking the civil service examination in connection with such appointment. Joanne Ricardelli shall be eligible for appointment to the position of firefighter in the town of Wilmington if she meets all other requirements for certification and appointment to the position. This section shall apply to the 2022 and 2023 civil service firefighter examinations.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
