AN ACT DESIGNATING A CERTAIN BRIDGE IN THE TOWN OF DEDHAM AS THE HONORABLE KELLY A. TIMILTY MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide forthwith for the naming of a certain bridge in the town of Dedham, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Massachusetts Department of Transportation Bridge number D05018 located on Cedar street in the town of Dedham shall be designated and known as the Honorable Kelly A. Timilty memorial bridge in recognition of Kelly A. Timilty. Kelly was a beloved public servant who served nine 9 consecutive terms under 5 governors on the governor's council. Kelly was the youngest child of Joseph F. Timilty, former state senator, and the sister of the Honorable James E. Timilty. She passed away before her time on January 31, 2012. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain a suitable marker bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.

Approved, July 9, 2024.
