AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF LEE TO CONTINUE THE EMPLOYMENT OF GLENN M. WILCOX AS ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Glenn M. Wilcox, the assistant fire chief of the Lee fire department, may continue to serve in such position until he reaches 70 years of age, retires or is relieved of duties by the town administrator of the town of Lee at the town administrator’s discretion, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that Glenn M. Wilcox is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of such position. The town administrator may, at the town’s expense, require Glenn M. Wilcox to be examined by a physician designated by the town administrator to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Glenn M. Wilcox pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for service subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 and, upon retirement, Glenn M. Wilcox shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired upon reaching the age of 65.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
