AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE MASSACHUSETTS WATER RESOURCES AUTHORITY TO SUPPLY WATER TO THE LYNNFIELD CENTER WATER DISTRICT WITHIN THE TOWN OF LYNNFIELD

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith supply water to the Lynnfield Center Water District, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Paragraph (d) of section 8 of chapter 372 of the acts of 1984, as most recently amended by section 1 of chapter 274 of the acts of 2024, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “Lynn” the following words:- , Lynnfield Center Water District within the town of Lynnfield.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding section 1, the provision of water services by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority to the Lynnfield Center Water District, established in chapter 336 of the acts of 1939, within the town of Lynnfield shall commence only after the board of directors of the authority has voted to approve the provision of such services after having first made the findings as required by clauses (1) to (6), inclusive, of paragraph (d) of section 8 of chapter 372 of the acts of 1984 and having made such other determinations in accordance with applicable policies of the authority and after all required approvals have been received including, as applicable, approval from other regulatory bodies, where required, and the advisory board of the authority; provided, however, that section 71 of said chapter 372 shall not apply to the provision of water services pursuant to this act
