AN ACT RECLASSIFYING FIRE ALARM OPERATORS IN THE CITY OF BEVERLY
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding paragraph (g) of subdivision (2) of section 3 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, employees of the city of Beverly, who were hired on or before January 26, 2006 and are: (i) employed as fire alarm operators; or (ii) were employed as fire alarm operators upon hire but thereafter transferred to the position of public safety telecommunicator, also known as joint civilian dispatcher, shall be classified by the city of Beverly retirement board in Group 2.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
