Born and raised in Watertown, State Representative John Lawn graduated from Merrimack College. He represents the 10th Middlesex District, including parts of Newton, Waltham, and Watertown and currently serves as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. Chair Lawn humbly carries on his family’s deep commitment to health care and workforce development. His mother came to Boston from Ireland in the early 1960’s supported by a nursing work exchange program, and his wife and daughter are nurses in the Boston area. Rep. Lawn’s legislative achievements include health care market review and oversight to protect patient affordability and access, prescription drug transparency and capped out-of-pocket costs, equitable voting rights including making vote-by-mail permanent and expanded early in-person voting, disability justice, veterans’ legislation including expanded housing access, and statute of limitations reform to support survivors of child sexual abuse.
