Appointed and elected positions
Randy started his public service activities nine years ago when he was invited to join the Town of Sandwich's finance committee. Three years later, he won election to the board of selectmen and has served for two three-year terms.
Well respected by his peers, Randy is thoroughly versed on the complexities and nuances of municipal budgeting and its dependence on the state's budget.
Professional background
Randy is not your typical practicing CPA. In 1981, fresh out of college with a bachelor's degree in accounting, he entered the firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell, then the second largest partnership of certified public accountants in the world. During his eight-year stay with Peat Marwick, now KPMG LLP, he was promoted to senior manager in the audit practice and spent two years in the firm's executive office in New York City.
In 1989, Randy left KPMG to become a plant controller with a publicly-traded company that manufactures infrared optical sensors and emitters used in office machinery and automobiles. Four years later, Randy was recruited by another publicly-traded company to become general manager of their EMI filter business unit.
Randy was promoted to chief financial officer with the same company after his successful run at building up and operating their EMI filter business unit. Back in the financial realm, Randy acquired significant experience dealing with financial institutions, investment bankers, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the board of directors and shareholders of a public company.
His entrepreneurial spirit then kicked in and Randy established his own CPA practice. His love for Cape Cod was inspiration for leaving the corporate world and establishing a firm focused on helping businesses, individuals and non-profit corporations to reach their financial goals while maintaining their reporting obligations to various state and federal agencies.
Family
Randy and his wife, Mary, do their best to keep up with six grown children via phone, email, Facebook and Twitter. Last Thanksgiving, Randy and Mary's family generated 15 of the 33 family members gathered at the table(s).
