AN ACT RELATIVE TO VACANCIES OF TOWN MEETING MEMBERS IN THE TOWN OF SAUGUS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


Section 7 of chapter 55 of the acts of 1928, as amended by chapter 23 of the acts of 1976, is hereby further amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- When a vacancy occurs in the full number of town meeting members from any precinct, the vacancy shall be filled by the candidate in the last election, for the office, who received the highest number of votes of all candidates who failed to be elected, but who received at least 30 votes in the election.
