The 193rd General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF DREW LONERGAN AS A POLICE OFFICER IN THE TOWN OF BOURNE.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize forthwith the appointment of Drew Lonergan as a police officer in the town of Bourne, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the personnel administrator of the human resources division shall certify Drew Lonergan to be eligible for original appointment to the position of police officer in the town of Bourne according to the grade he received on the examination for police officer held during April of 2009 or the grade he shall receive on any subsequent examination for police officer, notwithstanding the maximum age requirement for the position. The town of Bourne may appoint Drew Lonergan as a police officer if he meets all other requirements for certification as a police officer, the regulations of the civil service commission and the lawful hiring practices of the town of Bourne.

SECTION 2. This act shall expire on January 1, 2013.

Approved, April 20, 2011.
