AN ACT EXEMPTING CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE CITY OF GARDNER FROM THE CIVIL SERVICE LAWS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
SECTION 1. The positions of chief and deputy chief in the fire department of the city of Gardner and the position of deputy chief in the police department of the city of Gardner shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter 31 of the General Laws.
SECTION 2. Section 1 shall not impair the civil service status of a person holding a civil service position in the city of Gardner on the effective date of this act.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
