AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CHANGE OF USE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND IN THE TOWN OF ADAMS

     Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a portion of Renfrew park containing 1,842 square feet of land, more or less, and located at the intersection of state highway route 8 and Friend street in the town of Adams may be used for other than open space and recreational purposes, including, but not limited to, right of way and highway purposes and uses accessory thereto, as such disposition may also be authorized by the town meeting.
     SECTION 2.  The town shall dedicate a portion of a parcel of town land containing 2,500 square feet, more or less, along the proposed extension of the Ashuwillticook rail trail, as depicted on a plan entitled “Adams Ashuwillticook Rail Trail Preliminary ROW Plan” and identified as UR-1 for open space and recreational purposes.
     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
