AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF ARLINGTON TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL ACCOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC WORKS OF ART.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Arlington may establish a special account for the purchase, installation, maintenance and removal of public works of art on town property. The special account may contain sums of money that are appropriated by the town, which are raised by the general tax or otherwise, and may receive gifts or grants of money. The funds in the account may be expended under the direction of the town manager without further appropriation.
SECTION 2. The town manager shall report to each annual town meeting the revenues into and expenditures from this fund.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
