An Act relative to the appointment of special police officers in the town of Millbury

         Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
         SECTION 1.  The chief of police of the town of Millbury may, if the chief deems necessary, appoint individuals with a law enforcement background as special police officers for the purpose of performing police details or any other police duties arising therefrom or during the course of police detail work, whether or not related to the detail work.
         SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding section 1 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the maximum age for a special police officer appointed in the town of Millbury shall be 70 years of age.
         SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
