AN ACT FURTHER DEFINING A QUORUM OF A PUBLIC BODY IN THE TOWN OF MILTON

      Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
      SECTION 1.  (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, in circumstances in the town of Milton where a quorum of a public body requires a simple majority of the members of that public body, the quorum shall be a simple majority of the members appointed to that public body rather than a simple majority of all of the members of that public body as authorized.
     (b) For the purposes of this act, “public body” shall mean a multiple member board, commission, committee or subcommittee within the executive or legislative branch of the town of Milton, however established, appointed or otherwise constituted, to serve a public purpose; provided, however, that “public body” shall not include a multiple member board, commission, committee or subcommittee whose members are elected by the registered voters of the town.
     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
